Climate Action Wendover film screening - the People's Emergency Briefing 17th June
Climate Action Wendover is running a screening of a film - the People's Emergency Briefing (link to trailer) - which shares the latest evidence of the effects of the changing climate on health, cost of living, food security, and community resilience. Our screening is part of a nation-wide campaign being organised to bring more attention to this topic and call on government for a televised briefing for the UK public. There is momentum behind this, with 850+ local events being organised nation-wide so far (and the film only launched last month!) and c.80 MPs and Peers supporting it.The event is non-party political and open to local organisations and residents. It will include the film screening, which lasts 50 mins, and then an informal discussion reflecting on the film and what we can do to prepare and adapt for the future. Refreshment provided. The film is part of a national campaign gathering momentum that is calling on the UK government to give the public a clear briefing on the climate crisis and step up action to strengthen preparedness and adaptation. CLAW’s event will welcome residents, businesses, faith groups, charities, and anyone interested in hearing the evidence, exploring solutions, and showing MPs that there is strong public support for building a safer, healthier, and better future.
